Teaching the Word of God, Reaching Souls, and Community Outreach

New Birth COGIC does not confine ministry to the four walls of the church. We believe in Outreach! We are in the season of purchasing a permanent church home/facility so that we can continue our effective works in the community and Kingdom of God. Will you help us reach our goal?

Beechwood Manor- Assistant Living

Our New Birth family visited this senior citizen home to remind its residents that they have not been forgotten and to lift up their spirits. Many had not seen their families or even left from this facility, so we spent most of the day talking and praying with them. We wanted them to feel special and loved, and of course remind them of God’s love for them.

The following are the acts of love we shared:

  • Singing to lift residents’ spirits

  • Handmade Gift Bag of Toiletries given to residents

  • Ministered through the Word of God

  • Rendered prayer

  • Adult and Youth Outreach Mentoring Program

“Changing the World one life at a time.”

  • Job Placement

  • Reaching towards perfecting a sound, mind, body and Spirit.

Girls to Ladies &Boys to Men

Taking it To the Streets Youth Jam

Taking it To the Streets Youth Jam is Pastor Elder Levell Baldridge’s vision that came into fruition in August 2006 at Evangel C.O.G.I.C. (his home church in Detroit, MI). It was designed for the surrounding poverty stricken community and residents. Elder Baldridge was able to get permits from the city to block off several streets for the festivities. During this event we provided free food to participants, voter’s literacy (NAACP), financial education (presented by representatives from several banks) for all ages, health awareness (instructed by nutritionists, physical trainers), further education resources (by college representatives), free books for all grade levels, backpacks with school supplies for all grade levels, free haircuts, live music and a spoken word, followed by an alter call and intercessory prayer. This vision petitioned the need to “remove the limitations of ministry within four walls, and extend it throughout community”. We have annually hosted this Street Jam and have continued it in St. Clair Shores, MI.
